NQF 4: GENERIC MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT

This Learnership focuses on the development of (ideally) a current Supervisor into a higher management position within the company. Interpersonal skills are focused on and the development of the Learner as a Manager of a workarea with a number of Supervisors / Team Leaders under his control.

The NQF 4 level is more advanced than the NQF 3 Learnership although a number of the Unit Standards / Modules are the same. The difference comes into play with the detail and depth required to complete the exercises, which requires a significant higher standard than the NQF 3 Learnership.

The Learnership curriculum consists of 18 modules.

Each Module has a written assessment / test and the pass mark is 100%; the Learner has three attempts to achieve the 100%.

Each module has a number of class exercises and there are tasks that have to be completed as homework tasks as they require significant research both in and out of the immediate workplace.

The Learners are under the guidance of the Facilitator and an in-house appointed Mentor.

 

Ideal Learner Characteristics

• Grade 12 school qualification is required as Learners must be proficient in both reading and writing to a high standard in either English or Afrikaans (good writing skills required).
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• This Learner should be an aspiring Manager with (ideally) currently being in a supervisory position in the workplace.
• Must be able to work independently, have self-discipline and an aspiration to develop his / her management skills.

 

Expected Outcome of this Learnership

To equip the Learner with management skills associated with the successful management of Supervisors / Team Leaders in the workplace. Emphasis is placed on team development and the improvement of a team’s performance to meet the standards and goals of the workplace.
